How the Estimate Works

For ten standard windows that is 10 x 2.25, or roughly 22.5 hours, which at 8 hours a day rounds to three days. The average-per-window figure lets you sanity-check the pace against your own experience.
DIY mode multiplies the base by an inexperience factor and adds the fun tax from beer breaks, smoke breaks, hardware runs, and phone breaks. Fitting, shimming, and sealing each opening well takes practice, so a DIY replacement commonly runs two to three times a pro's timeline.
